FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do i need a referal?
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you are wanting to access Medicare rebates you will need a referral from a General Practitioner. Referrals are welcomed via fax, email, or by using the referral form.
Do you offer online or Phone sessions?
Yes. Video sessions are conducted via zoom, and phone sessions can also be arranged. Many people find video sessions much more convenient as they can occur in the comfort of your own house, and don’t require any travel time.
What should I bring to the first session?
If you have a referral or Mental Health Plan from your doctor then please have this available at the first appointment. If you are claiming a Medicare rebate or private health insurance rebate and would like to claim electronically on the day, you will need you Medicare or private health insurance membership card details.
How many sessions will I need?
The amount of sessions you would benefit most from is largely dependent on the nature of your presenting problems, goals, previous experience of therapy, and preparedness to practice different ways of being. Ten sessions is a good amount to accomplish a foundation of meaningful and transformative work that people can then take forward and use in their lives. But some people just want one session to give them a sense of direction and they are good to go. Other people desire more ongoing support beyond ten sessions. We can discuss more about this in the first session.
Do you provide after hours appointments?
Yes, after hours or weekend appointments can be arranged.
